What a perfect name for this perennial. It's such an easy plant to grow and looks so pretty in the fall. I love the color.

Les, mine has turned this deep, almost wine color now. I picked some a couple weeks ago to bring in the house, and they became like a dried flower. They lasted a long while, but were quite brittle to the touch. I just read mention of them in an essay by those terrific Vermont gardeners, Joe Eck and Wayne Winterrowd. "Sedum telephium purpureum 'Autumn Joy', planted in every garden but still indispensable..." That's just the way I view it, indispensable, and a real treat this time of year. Nan

Mine are getting a bit darker, too. What a wonderful plant with such a long bloom cycle. Even before they start to bloom, they're quite pretty.
