October 1st

O suns and skies and clouds of June,
And flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour
October's bright blue weather.

Nice yellow leaves. Still waiting for the leaves to change here.

Aren't they pretty, Nat? I went for a long walk yesterday (we have a great trail system right down the street from our house) and couldn't get over how pretty the folliage looked against the bright, blue sky. The photos just don't do it justice. Can't wait to see your autumn pictures!

Mm, the yellow and blue combination is really pretty! Thanks, I'm really looking forward to taking some autumn pics. I wish they'd hurry up already! :P

Not only are the yellow leaves a joy, but the poem! I'd like to have my class use it for an October word processing project we do, accompanied by art. Hmm, poems and leaves, what could be better?

Bellezza, I know what's better. Poems and leaves and HOT CHOCOLATE! I'm fixing some to share with my 4-year-old niece today. We have a date to bake cookies for Uncle Rod and I think after a walk through the leaves, hot chocolate will be a perfect treat. I just wish it were a little colder. Current temp: 59 degrees.

It's amazing how fast the colors have faded. I walked the path yesterday and the leaves that haven't fallen have a dull, dirty look to them now.
